REMEMBERING YOUR WEEKEND II

CONNECTING WITH YOUR HEART
Men, I’d like to invite you to close your eyes for a few moments, take a couple deep breaths and slowly release them.  Feel the air fill and leave your chest.

Be present with your feelings here, in this space, forgetting about the out side world for a moment.  Feel your feet firmly on the ground.

Now, I invite you to go back and remember your experience during your weekend on the mountain.

(ROAD GREETER)

Remember arriving and the man at the gate asked you “why are you here?

(MAN AT THE DOOR)

Remember the man at the door holding a staff and how he asked you some questions about the weekend?

He told you the weekend would be intensive, challenging and rewarding.  He said you would have many opportunities to face the shadows in your life and asked if you were ready to commit to doing whatever it would take to get what you came to get.

And then he said to you,

“Once you go through that door your life as a man will forever be changed”.

    “Are you ready?”

And you opened that door and went in.

(MEN IN BLACK)

Remember how you felt when you passed through that door and experienced a series of questions about yourself, what you brought with you and what you needed for the weekend.  Remember how that made you feel inside.

Now while keeping your eyes closed, continue to breathe into your feelings.

(WILDMAN, The gift)

Remember the “Wildman” story.

You went on a journey and got in touch with the four parts of your inner self….the little boy…the adventurer….the wild man….and finally……your king.

This gave you the gift of remembering that you are ALL of them combined.

(HERO’S JOURNEY)

Remember the journey that you took on Saturday,

Remember the hard work you did,

Remember how you were honored,

Remember how you returned a hero.

(TALISMAN CEREMONY)

Remember the celebration that happened Saturday night.

Remember walking up and receiving your talisman,

And the leader acknowledging you,

    You are warrior

Remember how you danced in celebration.

(SUNDAY)

Remember Sunday morning and the experience of your purifying sweat.

And then remember the big feast.  The celebration.

Remember the silent fairwell, your eyes meeting their eyes to say good bye.
